The email address above may be used for all communication with the school about attendance: to verify absences and tardies, to send doctor’s notes, and to request early dismissals. Contact with school via handwritten notes or phone calls are also acceptable to verify absences.

• School attendance in Virginia is compulsory and supports your child’s goal of academic success and on-time graduation.

• Students should miss no more than 9 days of school each year to stay engaged, successful and on track to graduation. Students who are chronically absent (18 days or more per year, or an average of 2 days absent per month) are less likely to experience academic success. attendanceworks.org
