Week #38- May 26, 2025

Memorial Day is a special day for many families, particularly families that have had members in the United States Armed Services. MES is blessed to have several families with active or former military ties and some have even been touched by the impact of loss.

I extend a special note of thanks to all of the military families in the MES community and beyond. I will always honor this day and join you in remembering those who sacrificed to ensure the freedoms we enjoy.

Enjoy the day with daily and have a wonderful remainder of the week!

Other Announcements/Reminders from the MES Office:

  • A parent report for each completed SOL test will be printed and sent home with your student during the last week of school.  SOL scores will also be available in your PowerSchool Parent Portal no later than June 11, 2025.

  • I apologize for the failure to send appropriate notifications regarding menu changes last week. I have worked on improving the chain of communication so that this is less likely to happen in the future. The changes are consistently posted on the school’s Facebook page and moving forward, I will try to make sure that messages are also sent through ThrillShare. There are no menu changes anticipated this week at MES.

  • MES Summer school is scheduled for July 8-25. Forms are needed in order to begin planning transportation and instructional materials.

  • Information about area summer camps:

  • The Inspire after school program is scheduled to continue at MES for the 2025-2026 academic year. Click HERE for an informational flyer.

  • Attendance Tip: Two weeks remaining! How many students can attend all seven days and finish the year on an attendance streak?
